School Consulting Associate: Judika Dumontet
Due to an increase in demand for high-quality, knowledgeable, compassionate school consulting, I have expanded my team to include Judika Dumontet.

Judika’s Bio:
Just as there is no perfect child, there is no perfect school.

My mission is to identify and match your child and your family with the school that best meets both his or her and your family's needs and desires, the school that will challenge while nurturing her, help him mature, grow, and widely expand her horizons.  That school should feed her strengths and help overcome weaknesses.

While most parents and kids stress out terribly during the school application process  (and even at the thought of it!) I have found from personal experience with my own 3 kids that, done well and carefully thought out, this can be a powerful and lasting positive experience for the whole family.  This is what I strive for with every client.  Your kids will come out of the application process more mature and better prepared, not just for their new school but also looking forward to their further school or college applications, and really for all that life may throw at them.

The Los Angeles private school world is extremely competitive.  But there are many choices out there, and at least one of them will be yours!  I will prepare and guide you and your child through the entire application process and help your child highlight the strengths that show that he or she is an ideal candidate who will be an asset to the school of his or her dreams.  Just as important, and again from personal experience, I have learned that schools look not just for the right children as students for their school but for the right families for their community.  I will guide you and prepare you so that you find the right fit for your child and your family.  I urge you to look at each step in the education of your child not just as a stepping-stone to the next level, but as the opportunity to join a new community where your child will grow, mature, and find his way in the world.

Now, a bit about me and my qualifications.  In another life I was a lawyer (Columbia Law School) and then became a writer and filmmaker (USC Film School).  As a lawyer I learned how important it is to be prepared, organized, and be able to argue cogently.  As a writer and director I learned early on that, above all else, you always need to tell a good story.  Actually, I learned that as a lawyer too, because this applies not only to films but also to life.  And I applied these skills, very successfully, to getting my children into schools.

Along the way, I became very involved in my kids’ schools in various capacities, including as a guest lecturer and working with both teachers and administrators.  This long-term and continued involvement has given me many contacts and much insight into the pulse and rhythm of the private school scene with knowledge of how educators, the admissions office, and other administrators think.  And with what they're looking for.

I also draw on my multi-national, multi-lingual background to connect with people.  This has helped me create a very special network at schools and also will help me better understand you and your family and what you really want.  There is no cookie-cutter situation.

I look forward to meeting you and working with you.
